I do not believe in happenstance. God has a divine plan that ensures everyone and everything has purpose. I know I'm guilty of using my free will to avoid change or discomfort. Five months ago, I wooed a much younger man then told him, "I am your bridge not your destination".
It's inevitable that love will bring pain, so the age old question is it better to love and lose or to never love at all? Last week we put down Atticus, my faithful companion and protector. He was diagnosed with a type of aggressive cancer in April and it was heartbreaking watching him suffer. While endings bring pain, I would do it a thousand times over to have the decade of precious memories Atticus has given me.
Turns out my beautiful man is taking me on the ride of a lifetime, crossing bridges and down backroads with laughter fueling our journey.
I have heard it said that people come into our lives for a reason, bringing something we must learn. And we are led to those who help us most to grow if we let them and we help them in return. - “For Good” from Wicked
